Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Bournemouth

Arbor Restaurant

Arbor Restaurant, The Green House Hotel, 4 Grove Road, Bournemouth BH1 3AX, UK – 01202 498900

Another excellent meal in the Arbor's beautiful dining room. The restaurant has a varied menu including British favourites with a twist; beef in red wine with dumplings. Prices are high, but reflect the quality of the food and service.Beetroot and dill soup sounds odd; but it was outstanding and appropriate for a cold March night. This is a sedate restaurant with a varied clientele; business men; couples and three ladies (us). The Arbor Restaurant is in the boutique, Eco hotel: The Green House.

Food is exceptional. Staff attentive to some but not others. Perhaps it was because we had a baby that I had to ask for someone to take our order three times whilst couples coming in after ordered before us. Not deserving of the 10pc tip automatic added to bill, and the receipt has s space for more tips. Tips should be at my discretion and not automatically added. Would not go again due to staff, but recommend for food which I'd give 5 stars.

NEO Restaurant

Exeter Rd, Bournemouth BH2 5AH, UK – 01202 203610

Stylish modern restaurant. May be a little pricey for some - but it's aimed at upmarket clients after excellent cocktails and well presented food. Have to applaude Neo for attempting to raise the bar in Bournemouth, a town reliant on its glorious beach and fading past.

As ever the best staff and best food in Bournemouth. If I want a good cocktail, or a good meal this is the place I choose. It's not cheap but it's VFM.

Miri's Restaurant

53 Bourne Ave, Bournemouth BH2 6DW, UK – 01202 551341

I love this place! It has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere yet the decor, food and service give a fine dining experience. This is my fifth trip to Miri's, it has always been really good but today they excelled themselves! The service was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive but never intrusive. We opted for a bottle of prosecco and the waiter topped up our glasses throughout out lunch. The bread and olives starter was delicious (as always). I had Chicken Saute which was exquisite, my companion had the Chicken Schnitzel which was lovely and was accompanied by chips and salad that had a dressing that was perfectly matched to the leaves. Pudding was Eton Mess. Crushed meringue with chantilly cream, juicy marinaded berries, white chocolate and chopped roasted hazelnuts, absolutely scrumptious. Thank you to the Chef for producing such a wonderful meal for us and thank you to our waiter who made our trip to Miri's very special!

A little hidden gem. You do pay more than in common pub, but the food is worth it. Typical eastern European food and excellent Czech beer that I have enjoyed too much with a friend of mine. Still, we could walk out on our own after 6 hours of being there - that counts, right? :D
